I ran to this beloved industry when I was 17 years old.
I was confident that it would be the only path for me. What I didn’t know then, was just how many times would it require me to shift and even change directions. Yes, change!
Your secret sauce for staying power and growth, come by knowing how to evolve through your seasons of life. And at times, that will require big change.
You see, I had the complete joy of working as an Educator and Director at Toni and Guy Academy, a commission stylist and a self employed stylists with a clientele of 10+ years - all to start over, in a new city.
My family and I moved to LA in 2014 and this is when discerning seasons of life took on a whole new meaning for me. I knew I wanted to plug into my new city and do some hair, but who’s hair and where?!
I was lost for a moment with no clue where to begin… until, I began!
I searched for my new salon home and while I never met my match, the far off dream to open a salon of my own became the immediate answer.
In less than 2 years, I grew my clientele to capacity and I developed a team of 19 in my salon home, The Harbor.
As we walk through life we will meet times of complete mystery. We’ll ask, “Who? How? Where?” amongst other complex questions all while we’re dreaming big and holding the precious pieces of our real life together.
I’ve been on a 17 year journey in this industry, now I’m here to share with you my experiences that have demanded both great leaps of courage as well as total stillness, times of pressing in and times where my young babies were the very reason to press pause.
My heart is to offer you encouragement through the questions, hope in the hardships and guidance towards your purpose with clarity, for this very moment in your life.
